How to Turn Off Secure Office for all Office documents

Turn Ansarada security settings off for all Microsoft Office documents in one go. Deactivate Secure Office.

Secure Office is a feature in Ansarada that adds extra protection to Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). It lets administrators control whether people can print, edit, save, or copy these files. All actions are tracked in the audit trail reports.

There are certain requirements that people accessing the Secure Office files need to have installed or enabled on their computer. Learn more about Secure Office system requirements here.

⚠️ We do not normally recommend that you turn off the security applied to documents. When you turn Secure Office off, all Excel, PowerPoint, and Word files will be unsecured, and you will not be able to revoke access to the downloaded Office files.

How to Turn Off Secure Office

Step 1: Log in to the Ansarada Data Room

Log in at dash.ansarada.com

Step 2: Navigate to the Settings tab

The settings page can be found on the left-hand tool bar of the page.

Step 3: Locate the Microsoft Office documents section

Scroll down the page until the option, you can toggle the button on and off here. Confirm the action.

Step 4: Saving the changes made

Scroll down to the bottom of the page to save the changes.

When to Turn Off Secure Office?

When all your Microsoft files require external editing or collaboration after the data room has been disabled, you can disable Secure Office. Doing so enables users to retain a permanent copy on their desktops after their initial download. If files need to be submitted to you, then security should be off.

What will happens when I turn off Secure Office?
