Microsoft Office Online Edit

Collaborative online editing for Microsoft (MS) Office documents.

ℹ️ This feature is only accessible to Administrators and Publishers.

With MS Office Online Edit, you can access your MS Office documents stored in your Room and make real-time changes to the documents without the need to download or install the desktop versions of the applications.


How to use MS Office Online Edit

To edit MS Office documents online please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Log in to the Ansarada Data Room

  • Log in at dash.ansarada.com

Step 2: Locate the Manage Documents Section.

  • On the left-hand side, under "Manage", select "Documents".

Step 3: Locate Edit in Microsoft 365.

  • Find the Microsoft Office file, and select the 3-lined menu to the right, select edit in Microsoft 365 for the web.

Step 4: Make live edits as you need

  • The editing tool will appear on a new tab. Multiple users can simultaneously collaborate on the same document, seeing each others changes in real-time and working together seamlessly.

Can I restore a previous version of a file that has been edited?

Yes, previous version of a file can be restored through the document's item menu. Please see this page for how to restore a previous version of a document.

I received an error that I don't have permission.

Publishers can only use the MS Office Online Edit feature if the security controls are turned off. If the security controls are turned on for a MS Office document, Publishers trying to edit it in MS Office online will see the below message:

Are there any limits to the file size when editing online?

Yes, see the below table:

up to 300MB

(This is still subject to the overall 60 second time out for file downloads. In addition, for embedded media, the size limit is 100MB for most embedded media types. For WAV files the limit is 100KB.)
