Numbering the Document index is important because the numbers help bidders find files quickly and easily.

How to Bulk renumber files and folders

Step 1: Log in to the Ansarada Data Room

  • Log in at dash.ansarada.com

Step 2: Locate the renumber tool

  • Go to "Manage Documents," select "Actions" then click on "Renumber"

Step 3: Renumbering the index

A window appears with two options:

  1. Select Renumber folder contents. When you select Renumber folder contents, you can then choose the Renumbering depth, Number format and Sort order.
    OR

  2. Select Adjust padding. This will add a 0 to the numbering as our Data Room uses double digit numbering.

Select Renumber to save your selections.

FAQs

What does adjust padding do?

Adjust padding allows you to add a 0 ahead of your first digit, so 1, 2, 3 would become 01, 02, 03. This is important to ensure you're files appear in numerical order.

Why is my numbering not in the correct order?

The Ansarada Data Room uses double-digit numbering such as 01, 01.01. If you use single-digit numbering such as 1 or 1.1, the numbering will become out of order once it goes above 10. You will need to use the “Adjust Padding” option to add a leading zero so the numbering appears in the correct order.

I moved a document or folder, but the numbering has not adjusted?

If you move a folder or document from one location to another, the numbering does not automatically adjust to its new location. You will need to use the renumbering tool to update the index so the numbering is correct.

How do I manually bulk edit the numbers?

If you want to bulk edit the numbering, you can use the bulk edit tool available in the room.

Why do I have numbering next to my index and also my folders and documents?

When performing a bulk upload, if you did not select “Use My Numbers,” the files and folders will appear with double numbering. The platform will apply its own numbering, and your original numbering will also appear next to the folder and document name. You can use the repair numbering tool to resolve this issue.

I have more than 100 files in a folder, how can I get the files to be in numeric order?

You'll need to adjust padding twice, for example: 1, 2, 3 becomes 01, 02, 03 which would become 001, 002, 003 (after you've adjusted padding the second time). It's important to note that 100 files in one folder is a large list to navigate through sometimes breaking them into smaller sub-folders helps users to navigate your content.
