Unable to access PDFs: Firefox

Set Adobe as your default PDF viewer for Firefox to access secured PDFs in the Room.

Adobe Reader needs to be set as the default program for opening PDF files on your computer. This is because the PDFs documents in your Room use Adobe’s Digital Rights Management (DRM) for security.

💡Tip: Select the Preview icon to quickly preview PDFs without downloading them. Learn more here. Or if you need to download the PDF but are unable to set Adobe as the default program, right click on the PDF file from your downloads and choose to open the PDF with Adobe Reader.

Mac instructions

To set Adobe as the default PDF viewer for Firefox, follow these steps:

1. Open a new Firefox window.

💡Tip: Before changing your browser settings, you will need to have Adobe installed and set as the default for your Mac or PC.

2. On the far right, select the Menu button.

3. Select Preferences.

4. Go to Applications.

5. Select Adobe Acrobat PDF Document.

6. In the Drop Down menu, select Use Adobe Acrobat (default).

7. Go to Portable Document Format (PDF), Select Use Adobe Acrobat (default).

PC instructions

To set Adobe as the default PDF viewer for Firefox, follow these steps:

1. Open a new Firefox window.

💡Tip: Before changing your browser settings, you will need to have Adobe installed and set as the default for your PC.

2. Select the Menu, then select Options.

3. In Options, select Applications.

4. Under Portable Document Format (PDF), select Use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (Default) from the drop down menu.

💡Tip: Users may also need to change their Add-ons settings by following the below steps.

5. Select the Menu, then select Add-ons.

6. In the Add-ons Manager, select Plugins.

7. Select Adobe Reader.

8. Change to Always Activate.
