Authentication methods

For the initial setup, you can choose one of the following authentication methods:

  1. Authenticator application: You can use apps like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator to receive a 6-digit code.

  2. SMS authentication: You'll get a 6-digit code sent via text message (SMS) to your registered mobile phone number.

πŸ’‘Tip: Should you ever need to switch your authenticator app or update your phone number post-initial setup, simply follow these steps to reset your MFA.

Option 1 - Authenticator application

1. Download an authenticator application

  • First things first, download and install an authenticator application.

  • Visit our help page for a list of recommended authenticator applications.

2. Login to Ansarada profile

3. Select Google Authenticator or similar

  • You'll see two authentication methods, select Google Authenticator or similar.

  • You'll be presented with a QR code.

  • Open the authenticator app you just downloaded. Depending on the app, you might need to log in with your Google or Microsoft account. Alternatively, you might be able to use the app without logging in.

  • In the app, tap the '+ 'or Add Account button (the exact wording may vary depending on your device).

  • Choose the Scan a QR code option. You might get a notification asking you to allow authenticator app to take pictures and record video. Tap Allow.

  • Use your device's camera to scan the QR code displayed on the login page.

ℹ️ Note: Don't have a smartphone with a working camera? No problem! You still have the option to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) manually with your authenticator app.

4. Confirm setup

  • Once the authenticator app generates one-time password (OTP), which is a 6-digit code based on the QR code scan, enter this code into the MFA setup process on your account. This confirms that the app is correctly synced with your account.

  • Your authenticator app will start generating a 6-digit code that resets every 30 seconds.

5. Save the recovery code

  • Make sure to save the recovery code in a safe and secure place. Recovery code can be used in case you can't access your authenticator app or lose access to your authenticator app.

  • Check out this help page on how to use your recovery code to login with MFA.

6. Enjoy enhanced security πŸŽ‰

  • Congratulations! You've successfully downloaded and set up an authenticator application for MFA.

  • Now, when you log in, you'll need to provide the 6-digit code generated by the app, in addition to your regular password. If you lose access to your authentication device, you can use the recovery code or email as a back up MFA factor to log in to your Ansarada profile.

πŸ’‘Tip: Tick to box to Trust this device for 30 days, this will grant you access without needing to complete MFA for the next 30 days on this device. Remember, do not use this option on public or shared computers.

Option 2 - SMS authentication

1. Login to Ansarada profile

2. Select SMS

  • You'll see two authentication methods, select SMS.

  • On the SMS verification page, select the country code and type the mobile phone number, and then select Continue.

3. Confirm setup

  • You'll get a text message (SMS) with a one-time 6-digit code on your registered mobile phone. Please note that this code is only valid for 5 minutes, so make sure to enter it promptly.

  • Enter this code into the MFA setup process on your account. This confirms that your mobile phone number is correctly synced with your account.

4. Save the recovery code

  • Make sure to save the recovery code in a safe and secure place. Recovery code can be used if you ever can't access or lose your mobile phone.

  • Check out this help page on how to use your recovery code to login with MFA.

5. Enjoy enhanced security πŸŽ‰

  • Congratulations! Your SMS for MFA is all set up and ready to go.

  • Now, when you log in, you'll be asked for a 6-digit code sent to your mobile phone, in addition to your regular password. If you lose access to your mobile phone, you can use the recovery code or email as a back up MFA factor to log in to your Ansarada profile.

πŸ’‘Tip: Tick to box to Trust this device for 30 days, this will grant you access without needing to complete MFA for the next 30 days on this device. Remember, do not use this option on public or shared computers.
